Beginner's Classes

In February of 2008 LCW taught it's second class at the

Learning Station Home School Cooperative.

First class, sharpening instructions and safety. The Beginners. The Intermediates.

Floyd Rhadigan visited the class and demonstrated carving a face.

A picnic and demonstrations was held at Ellen Campbell's house after the course was over.

At our annual show Laura McEllhenney won 1st Prize, and Debbie Campbell won 2nd Prize in the Youth Class.

In June of 2008 members of LCW were invited to attend the annual MDA Campout.

Each Year the local MDA Chapter takes a group of children with Muscular Dystrophy on a week long campout to Gretna Glen in Mt. Gretna, PA. LCW has been invited to come up the the campout for the past two years. Different clubs attend the outing to make the week a little more special for the kids. Lowe's workers were on hand to assist the children in making a small craft project. A motorcycle club was there to give each kid a ride on a bike, and there were too many clowns to count. The Shriners provided a BBQ lunch for all, and a singing group called "Chardonnay For Two" entertained us with songs from the 50s and 60s. Member Dan Finney carved a Pirate and other members carved Pirate Pins for Jerry's Kids.
